First Edit of New @StanziCity SWAG Brand Logo

This is a pic I took off my screen with my phone, so centering is off.  But working on the brand logo yet.  This is the first draft.  Gonna do a shirt of this with something on the back yet?  I've listed a few ideas on my facebook page, but if somebody comes up with something clever for the back, I'll hook you up with some @stanzicity shirts.

Stanzi, not Orton should start and why...

Sunday against the Packers will most likely not see Tyler Palko, Ricky Stanzi but Kyle Orton as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback.  Most fans are happy with the decision to move Palko down and there's a split of Chiefs fans on Orton or Stanzi.  But new interim coach, Romeo Crennel, made his decision to start Orton if he's ready to go.  Probably not true, Orton will probably start if he's not a 100 percent.  He's already stated as he's going to wear a special glove come Sunday to soften the impact on his finger.  The Chiefs organization spent a few million dollars for the rest of the season and that most likely means, they want to get their money's worth out of him taking some lumps rather than a future quarterback project like Stanzi.  The problem is, it's still not the right decision for the future of the Kansas City Chiefs.

We've seen rookies come onto the field and play this year already with different teams.  Some have looked sharp at times and some have looked like rookies at times, it's expected if you have an sane mind.  With all the quarterback issues for the Chiefs, the organization settles for someone like Orton to get us through the season.  I have no issues with Orton thus far as he hasn't played a game for the Chiefs and more than likely in 3 more games, he's no longer part of the Chiefs organization again.  The Chiefs will let Orton move on and take their comp pick and set sights on 2012.  It's what they should be doing now.  Orton may win a game or two but than what...most likely nothing.  They aren't going to cut Matt Cassell and bring Orton back as their starting qb.  If it happens, I'll admit that I thought the Chiefs organization had a better staff in place and that I was completely wrong.  I'm sure many will agree and that Orton won't be back.  Will he resign to be the backup, doubt it.  He didn't like sitting behind Tebow, so why would he like to sit here?

The Chiefs Super Bowl starts this week with the Packers.  No, the Chiefs aren't heading to the playoffs but with an upset of the undefeated Packers, this win would mean a lot to many players, coaches, and executives.  It would be something special.  It would be more special if Ricky Stanzi was the Chiefs QB that did it.

The Chiefs have something special, its sitting right there...but they still don't know what it is or how to grasp it.  Mizzou fans might not agree, Hawkeye haters might dislike it, but Ricky Stanzi is that something special that can be built on.  Maybe his football skills wont make that happen, maybe he won't succeed in the NFL.  Than again, theres the chance that he could be the quarterback the Chiefs just need.  Reporters and others might knock Stanzi for their view and opinion of a guy and what they see in practice or what they hear from others.  They seem all determined that he's not ready.  But some athletes carry a winning attitude, a swagger, or just a simple knack for making the plays that makes not only them, but their teams a winner.  People still doubt Tebow.  There's still a chance he's a one-year wonder, but Denver is loving every moment of it.  The guy is selling Denver fans, NFL fans, and many others because he comes out as a winner.  You can knock the guy for his lesser quarterback skills, but you can't knock him down as a loser, cause he wins more than he loses.  Being on the NFL field changes some guys from average to stars.  If every reporter, coach, and scout was right about every guy who got drafted or practiced, some stars would never get the chance.  Some times it takes an injury to find your star, ask former Cheifs Trent Green who lost his job to the undrafted Kurt Warner.  Did people knock Warner, I'm sure they did.  But when Warner was on the field, he was different, he was a star.  So here's Kansas City's chance... they've got an opportunity to see if there is one... but they seem afraid to grasp it.

Ricky Stanzi may never play a down in the NFL, than again he may be a star.  I don't know, you don't know, and no one will know until the kid gets a chance to play on any given Sunday.  He may have an okay game and emerge later or he may just be another guy waiting for his chance.  But... the fans are intrigued with Stanzi, you've heard it during a pre-season game when Stanzi became the loudest ovation at Arrowhead.  We saw him start to lead a comeback against the Rams, yet was pulled before he could get it done for Tyler Palko, and the spirit faded...

Stanzi's spirit is there, he possibly could be a good change for Arrowhead.  Already, stanzi the manzi, the Stanzi City Chiefs, love it or leave it, USA, and stanzination has been heard on Arrowhead.  If this guy makes it, Kansas City Chiefs got more than just a quarterback, they got representation that other teams won't have... thats #USA's quarterback.  Cowboy's might be America's team, but Stanzi possibly could be America's quarterback.  Some don't get all the hoopla of Stanzi's proud and rich USA showmanship.  I get it... he's living the American Dream...

I've created a facebook page for the Stanzi City Shirts to allow people to find us a little bit easier as well now.  I will post updates as well and other information on there from time to time.

I am also unleashing the Stanzi City Chiefs Hoodie here in the coming days that will be available for sale.  I am thinking of running a special from Black Friday thru Cyber Monday on the hoodie and than it will go to base price from there.

I am also looking for pictures to post on facebook of you wearing the shirt or you just taking the picture of someone wearing the shirt.  I am going to have a contest that will run thru Dec 12th to win a Hoodie for the best picture submitted and it will be judged by me.  It can be serious, funny, off the wall, normal, doesn't matter but I will choose with what I think is a great picture.  You can submit as many pictures you want on the facebook wall or by emailing me at nlauge@sprint.blackberry.net.  I am looking for a picture that will be a great promotional tool as well.  All pictures submitted give me the granted permission to use for any promotional purposes I so choose.  I will not alter any image that will degrade the image of anyone in the picture as well.

More to come soon.  Please like the facebook page.  Thanks again for all your fun and support!

Stanzi City Chiefs Getting Close

So if Matt Cassel is injured and possibly done for the year as some reports are speculating, does that mean we are close to a Tyler Palko inefficient performance or injury away from seeing the Stanzi City Chiefs era begin in KC?

Get your stanzi city chiefs shirt and get your stanzi chant ready... it may be closer than we all imgained just a few days ago.

Not California girls but Iowa Gurls

So I caught this video on You Tube today.  I've heard about it, seen some facebook posts on it but finally took the time to actually watch it in full.  I am a little confused, its funny, catchy, the rapper is pretty decent, but you make fun of the state you love.  But I kinda get it as most of the things said and done are staples of Iowa living.  What most of the country harasses Iowa fans about, is actually proved true in theory of who and what we come from.  Not all of us, but many of us have all experienced many of the aspects of this video.  Whether or not you think its dumb, lame, funny, or good... its a clever parody of the California Girls song.  The video itsself is pretty enjoyable especially when the one young girl messes up on the beer bong.  I mean, how many people do that every tailgate in Iowa, more than you know.  Anyways, catch the video here...

Stanzi City Chiefs Green Shirt For Greenwood

It's always nice to see other fans support those who having unexpected events take place in their lives.  When www.iowahawkart.com owner Sean Thompson came up with the benefit for supporting a Greenwood cause, I also wanted to help give back to help support a Hawkeye.  I've donated some of the basic stanzi shirts as well but I've also created one shirt each in small, medium, large, x-large, and xx-large that will only be sold at this event in the Stanzi City Chiefs theme but in the color green.  Yes we all know that Chiefs don't wear green but the "green for greenwood" campaign at Kinnick was greatly supported and I thought, why not Green for a day for Stanzi City.  So these 1/1 shirts (except XL there are 2 made, one for myself for my personal collection) will be sold at the benefit October 18th in Des Moines.  Even if you are a proud Stanzi fan, the green may seem awkward to some who view it, but the cause behind it is much much more.  I'm not yet sure how they will be selling these green shirts but a 100 percent of the purchase price of these limited shirts will go to support the Greenwood cause.  If you are interested in purchasing this shirt and are unable to attend, I'm sure you may contact Sean at hawkart@live.com and see about the shirt.  Please also visit the page with details of the upcoming event and an auction for a wonderful Hawkeye memorabilia piece  http://www.iowahawkart.com/Blank.html

Also, an update on the Bo Don't Know Iowa shirt thru this blog.  Just worked today on some final touches with the design.  It should be available for Pre-order either tomorrow or Friday, it was delayed as some changes were made.  This looks to be another popular shirt so far from the emails I have received.

Also, just posted before this a sweatshirt of the stanzi shirt.  Its not available on the order forms, but if you are interested in purchasing one, please email me at nlauge@sprint.blackberry.net

Stanzi City Shirt Sales to benefit Children's Hospital

Recently, I proposed an idea of giving back on the Stanzi City Chiefs shirt.  I had contacted Mary Jane Stanzi about having a portion of each sale going to a charity of Ricky's choice and their thoughts on the idea.  I was contacted back and the organization to benefit from shirt sales will be the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.  You can visit their website link here http://www.uihealthcare.com/depts/uichildrenshospital/

With the different options and price points of each shirt, I've decided that a minimum of 10 percent of each sale will go towards the hospital.  I've also thought of looking at other organizations as well for another 5 percent as well.   Maybe something in the Kansas City area or maybe even the United Way.  But for now a ten percent dontation will be made on each shirt sold.  I will post results as donations are made.  I will probably do this on a monthly cycle and post results as well and post photos of the donations made.

When Stanzi becomes a starter, I'm sure the donations will increase greatly on shirts sold.  If you haven't seen the shirt, please check some of my previous posts for the shirts.  If you have purchased the shirt I hope you have wore the shirt proudly as I have.

I also want to say a special thanks to former Hawkeye DJK for the support he has given on the shirt the past few days.  Feel free to retweet this or post on your facebook page as well by using the buttons below.

Again thanks to all and enjoy the fun with #stanzicity
