First Night Practice of 2011 For KC Chiefs Camp

1st Chiefs Night Practice of 2011
Well, its over.  The first Kansas City Chiefs Night practice at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Missouri took place August 3rd, 2011.  The turnout was good for a middle of the week 7-9:30pm practice.  Many fans came out to Spratt Stadium and supported the chiefs and waited for their turn to get autographs of the young squad.

Luckily for many of us, it wasn't 107 degrees out.  For some families, they may have turned out as many homes in St. Joseph lost power today due to a substation catching on fire.

The practice was decent but the Chiefs still have a long ways to go before they begin their quest to defend the AFC West.  Some guys look great, the rookies are a little rusty, but tomorrow begins a new chapter as many other players get their 1st chance to practice along side the other 60+ who have already taken the field.

But todays been a long day, tomorrow begins a new chapter but Ive already got a story Im working on and as many have asked about the former Hawkeye, #13 Ricky Stanzi, you'll just have to wait til' tomorrow evening as my story will be on Mr. Stanzi.  So I leave you with #loveitorleaveit!

  1. Thanks for the report for those that can't be there. This year is always an interesting one for young teams coming off an "over achieving" season. Will they take a set back? Probably. But, they'll play better football. I'll go with 9-7. If they can learn how to play on the road, 11-5.
